Who says your brand photos have to be dull!
I'd never been super keen on my previous headshot on here, it was fine but I felt like an awkward alien. I knew since starting my business I'd want some professional photography and had earmarked Fran Hennessy Creative from an event she ran in Leeds in 2023. She was local, I liked her vibe and she was as colourful and fun as I am!
When she released dates for a pop up 2-hour studio shoot in Leeds I booked on straight away. I'm not super comfortable in front of a camera and I've only had professional photos taken at things like weddings. I had no idea how to pose, should I pose, how do I not look awkward but also so clients won't be put off by a weirdo gurning at the camera!
Fran's intro call before the shoot allowed me to get all those nerves out and discuss what I wanted and what I'd use the shots for. She took me through the details so I knew what to expect. I was also nervous about not wearing make-up as I don't wear it day to day and I have no idea how to do good make up (what is a BB cream anyways). I asked around the community and spoke to Fran about it and was reassured I didn't need to if I didn't want this so that was great.
On the day we got a brew on, Fran popped on some 90’s tunes and we got stuck into the shoot. It was ideal that the first backdrop is almost identical to my main brand colour. I still felt like an awkward alien but Fran made me feel at ease quickly & it was clear her mission was to get me to be authentic and at ease. She was interested in my business and that got me chewing her ear off about maps! As I was so comfortable this encouraged me to be me and tell her all about my business we got some excellent shots that I’m pleased with and capture who I am really well.

"Wow… what can I say, working with Fran on getting some professional shots of myself in the city was SUCH an enjoyable experience. I usually feel a bit uncomfortable with things like this, and therefore don’t feel like myself in photos. But this photoshoot was so different. Working with Fran was relaxed and really fun. I didn’t realise she was taking so many shots at the time, but was THRILLED at how many shots she got, and I LOVED them all!
